Lisa Abwa

Lisa Abwa is a multilingual professional who has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Paris – Panthéon-Sorbonne and as part of her degree, completed an exchange semester at the University of Alicante in Spain. She subsequently obtained a Master of Science from Brunel University in the United Kingdom. She is bilingual in English and French and speaks fluent Spanish as well as basic Portuguese.

For her entire career, Lisa has resided in London, working mainly with organizations and agencies focusing on international development and health. Starting out in communications, support and administration, her roles have evolved over the years to auditing and finance while, in parallel, she gained her full qualification/certification in accounting with the globally recognized Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

In her professional life, Lisa is mainly recognized for her excellent communication and organization skills as well as her flexibility and approachability. She combines numerical and accounting skills with language, editing and communication skills, having created a still thriving translation company during her university years.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys playing tennis, reading, traveling and the outdoors. She performs volunteer activities in local organizations in her community.

Lisa’s most recent role as mother to her daughter Mimi has expanded further her outlook and her eagerness for involvement in multi-dimensional opportunities. She lives with her husband and daughter in the United Kingdom and handles SOS International operations from there.
